So why Overwater?
There are more quality basses out there than a stick could ever be shaken at, so if someone were to ask you why you play an Overwater, what would you say?
For me, I like a bass that has a little bit of weight to it - not too heavy, but not too light, and as someone who plays fives mostly, I like a 35" scale: Overwater hits the mark perfectly there for me.
I also love the feel of Overwater necks - just the right heft and width. I suppose you could say that any maker could accommodate your wishes with a custom build, but somehow, even off-the-shelf Overwaters feel just right as well to me.
Each to their own of course, but I love the core sound of these instruments - no matter what pickups, there is some intrinsic depth which seems to lie at the heart of each instrument. Nothing ever needs to be maxed out, unlike some others I've tried, to get a good sounding bass.
I have never found my Overwater has let me down during a gig, recording or rehearsing and that is a major bonus.
I also love the idea that these are made in Britain.
There's some of my reasons. What say you?
