Hi I am Andy and not a professional bass player but have been playing more seriously in the past 2-3 years. I am an old git at 56 but still love learning new stuff and I subscribe to Scot’s Bass Lessons to try and build some chops and keep up to date. I play a 4 string Fender Jazz Bass + 90.. yeah, I know what’s one of them?? Apart from the lace sensor pickups it is a lovely Bass and the Kubiki active circuitry is not bad. I also have a 4 string Ibanez fretless which is really nice too. So maybe in the market for a 5....
I had a Fender CS bass with Lace sensors fitted. It sounded really good.
Anyway, glad to see you've joined.
Thanks, yes they aren’t bad actually, I did compare mine with. ‘Vintage 62’ (I.e. not really vintage but designed to sound like a 62) Jazz and I preferred mine.
Breaking News is that I am now the Proud owner of an Overwater classic J custom 5. Which is a completely different beast (beauty?).
Excellent! Congratulations. You need to fire a photo of the newbee up to make the rest of us jealous!
I hope it is great and that you have many years making excellent music with it.
(Not surprised at all about your Lace Sensor comparison - as I said, they're good gear. Always regretted selling that bass 😬)
That looks excellentissimo.
I bet it sounds every bit as good as it looks. You must be a very happy bunny with that one!
@andy-g So this is where the Classic J Custom 5 went! I've only been with Overwater a short time, and this is the first bass I had any involvement with as I did some promo work for it and listed it for sale. Glad to see it's found a good home!.
And welcome to the forum Andy.
