PROGRESS SERIES IV
First introduced in the mid 1980’s, the multi-laminate, ‘neck through body’ styling of the Progress Series has been Overwater Basses flagship model for almost four decades. In its latest Iteration, the Series IV Progress now incorporates both bolt-on and through neck option.
Every Progress bass comes equipped with our own custom electronics, pick-ups and hardware – designed by, and exclusive to, Overwater.
Built to the same exacting criteria as our Custom Series and offering the same degree of playability and great tone, Standard Series basses also offer exceptional value to the discerning player.
Built exclusively in our UK workshop to the same level of excellence, by the same team of experienced craftsmen and using the same quality of materials, hardware and electronics as Custom Series instruments, but to a standard specification with fewer custom options allowing for more cost-effective production.
Available in 4, 5 and 6 string formats with some ‘Custom Options’ available, including a selection of timber choices, fingerboard material and finish options, with a choice of Chrome or Black hardware.

Available with either a through neck, extended or standard bolt-on construction, the Progress Series IV combines balance and playability with outstanding tonal clarity and visual elegance. Available in 4, 5, 6 and 7 string formats with a wide choice of tunings, scale lengths and string spacings, these models offer unlimited scope for every playing style. Every Progress bass comes equipped with our own custom electronics, pick-ups and hardware – designed by, and exclusive to, Overwater.
Other manufacturers parts may be specified as a custom option if requested and at our discretion.
A greater range of tone woods are also available for bodies include White Ash, Swamp Ash, Paulownia, Alder, Walnut, Tulipwood and Mahogany, together with wide and ever-changing selection of figured body and headstock facings are also available – ensuring each instrument its own, unique beauty.
We also offer a choice of fingerboard materials and neck laminates, including some figured and ‘roasted’ Maples, White Ash, and Wenge for necks, with optional stringers of Walnut, Maple, Wenge or Bubinga.
