Overwater Basses will be at the UK Bass Guitar Show in the Manchester Central Conference Centre (the old G-Mex Centre) on 28th and 29th March 2020.

Now that the excitement of Winter NAMM is behind us, it feels like we’re well and truly into 2020! Here in the UK, this is now the time when our thoughts turn to The UK Bass Show which, up until 2018, was hosted by Bass Guitar Magazine in London’s Olympia in March. Last year, however, the organisers decided to combine the UK Bass Guitar Show with the UK Guitar Show, and move the event to the back end of the year, and the venue to The British Design Centre in Islington, London.

Predictably, there were those who found this event/venue more convenient or better, and those who didn’t like it as much – for a variety of reasons on both sides that you’ll all probably be familiar with! As manufacturers, however, we were disappointed that the Bass Show lost its status as an independent event celebrating all things bass.

So, we were very happy when we heard that there was a new UK Bass Guitar Show to be held in Manchester, organised by Gold Media & Events, and even happier when GME founder, Neil Golding (who previously organised many of the Bass Shows at Olympia), personally invited Overwater to take part!

So far this is shaping up to be a pretty exciting event, with Billy Sheehan, Yolanda Charles, Laurence Cottle, Richard Bona, Jerry Barnes, Leland Sklar, and Marco Mendoza among the line-up of headlining artists.

We’ll be bringing along a range of our Progress, Hybrid and J Series basses – along with our new Hollowbody models – all available to try-out in the (relative!) calm of the Foyer area of the show.

Overwater founder, Chris May, and Senior Luthier, Martin Lee, will be on hand to answer all your questions, and we’re especially delighted that Overwater Signature artists Phil Mann will be joining us on the Sunday of the show. Many of you will recognise Phil as tutor in residence with Scott’s Bass Lessons and from his regular column in Bass Guitar Magazine and Bass Musician Magazine. Phil is also hoping to bring Overwater Artist and veteran session legend Mo Foster along on Sunday too…

Chris’s protégé Scott Devine (founder of SBL and also an Overwater Signature Artist) will also dropping by at various points during the show…

We’re rooting for the show to be a real success with lots of support from bass players from all over the UK so that we can get back to having an annual UK bass only show again…

Hope to see you there!
