Royal Philharmonic Orchestra – BBC Big Band – Zoltan’s Bass Lounge

Before making the UK his home, Zoltan immersed himself in the vibrant music scene of Los Angeles. There, he collaborated with luminaries such as Rick Zunigar (Stevie Wonder), Alan Broadbent (Charlie Haden Quartet), and Brandon Fields (Dave Weckl Band), enriching his artistry and network. His move to the UK in the late ’90s marked the beginning of an illustrious chapter, showcasing his versatility across prestigious platforms such as the BBC Big Band, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The London Sinfonietta, and with stars like Elaine Paige. Zoltan’s flair also lit up West End stages, contributing to hit shows including “Legally Blonde,” “Shrek,” “The Lion King,” “Wicked,” “The Book of Mormon,” “Hamilton,” and “Only Fools and Horses.”

Zoltan’s fervor extends beyond performance to the realm of education. Prior to his UK tenure, he shaped minds at Jeff Berlin’s PlayerSchool of Music and the California Institute of the Arts. His educational path led him to Leeds Conservatoire, where he has been inspiring the next generation of musicians as Principal Lecturer in Jazz Bass since 2001.
