Sam Edgington
Sam Edgington is a highly versatile and in-demand bass player based in London, with a career spanning bass guitar, synth bass, and double bass across a wide range of musical genres. Whether on stage, in the studio, or on tour, Sam brings precision, depth, and character to every performance. A graduate of Leeds University, Sam returned to London in 2008 and has since built an impressive portfolio as a first-call session and theatre bassist.
Sam’s work in musical theatre is extensive and acclaimed. He has performed in celebrated West End productions including This House, One Man Two Guvnors, Waitress, Grease, and Jersey Boys, and held key roles on major UK and international tours such as The Bodyguard, Aladdin, and Jesus Christ Superstar. His adaptability has seen him deputise for leading musicals across the UK, and his playing has supported some of the industry’s most iconic talents, including Alexandra Burke, Beverley Knight, and Peter Andre. He’s also no stranger to the world of television and live broadcast, having played with James Corden, Graham Norton, and BAFTA-winning series Baker Boys.
Outside of theatre, Sam’s session work includes a broad array of original artists and genres, from the chart-topping pop of Bastille to the vibrant rhythms of They Say Jump, who supported The Wailers on tour. He’s collaborated on solo projects with Lucie Jones, played on contemporary classical premieres, and performed at landmark venues such as Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and the Prince of Wales Theatre. Known for his musicality, reliability, and deep pocket, Sam continues to be a trusted name among MDs, producers, and artists alike.
